Franklin Knitters!

As one of my features this week I went to the Franklin Knitters club, a group of women that meet every Tuesday to knit and share coffee together. One of the ladies there, Carol has been knitting since she was in the 5th grade, or a little over 50 years. What I enjoyed so much about talking to Carol was how she told me about when she started knitting. Her grandmother taught her how to knit and all throughout high school she would go and spend her afternoons with her grandmother knitting, as she put it, "it was really just a time for me to spend with her and improve my knitting skills."

Sometimes all you can do is laugh!

Brittani and I decided to hit the International Festival this past weekend. Neither one of us had ever gone so we were both looking forward to it. It was great seeing some of the different cultures represented and of course wherever there is ethnic food being served, you can count me in! I was editing some of the photos from this weekend and couldn't help but laugh at how funny this moment was for us. I'll let you look for yourself and see if you and I have the same sense of humor!And then we have one of the photos I chose to turn in for my features assignment this week! Admittedly, it isn't the best photo I have ever shot, but I found it humorous and couldn't resist. Whether or not that was against my better judgment, only time will tell.

August/September Heat

Yes, this photo is from a little over 3 weeks ago, but I just looked at it again and realized the humor behind it. I am in no way making fun of our local firefighters. I do however, find it interesting that the residents of this community forked out several dollars to pay for these floral medians in various locations throughout BG...only to realize once they were built,they did not build these with a sprinkler system inside the beds and this is an area that sees temps over the hundreds regularly throughout the summer. This fire happened on my block, the firemen said the most likely cause was someone tossing a cigarette out their car window. On this particular day it was 104 outside and hadn't rained in over 3 weeks.

Motley-Droole!

Who would NOT want to wake up to this staring back at them every morning?
Meet my 21-month-old son/pit-matian Motley-Droole (yes, like Motley Crue). I adopted Motley shortly after my 16-year-old dalmatian, Kandy had to be put to sleep and he has kept me on my toes every since I brought him home!

A little Practicum Update!

So, here we are entering into week 4 of school. Yikes! I am going to start posting my weekly features, assignments, and outtakes that I might have a problem letting go of for you all to see what's keeping me so tied up. Enjoy!
