Photo Snack!

Step 2: Seek Massive Christmas Display
Oakville, Ky. native Roger Morgan waits at the end of his driveway for the first visitors of the evening to see his 6,000 light display at his home. "Growing up I was one of 14 kids and I was 15-years-old before I saw my first Christmas light. I thought those were prettier then anything I'd ever seen and i made a promise to myself then that I was gonna' have lights when I grew up" said Morgan of his inspiration to put out the display every year.This year marks the tenth anniversary for the extravagant display.
Reindeer are displayed next the to the barns silo at Morgan's Christmas display. Morgan spends a month putting up all the decorations at his home and the rest of the year, he makes all of his displays. "I usually only have a little picture to look back on when I'm making my displays and I do the best I can from that."
Morgan welcomes anyone from the community to come out and look at his light display, "even is nobody came I'd still do it because I love it that much" said Morgan. Laura Daves and her two daughters, Audrey, 10 and Jessica, 8 come to look at the lights every evening. Both sisters said they have been coming since they were born.

KHSAA Highlands High Vs. Franklin-Simpson
Running back Colin Seidl is thrown to the ground by Franklin-Simpson's Kane Ray at the KHSAA football championships on Saturday. THe game ended in a 42-14 victory for the Highlands Bluebirds.
Highlands duo, Patrick Towles and Jake Whitford worked together to score the final touchdown of the KHSAA football championship game on Saturday.
Highland high school's quarterback, Patrick Towles looks for an open teammate to throw the football to at Saturdays state championship game against Franklin-Simpson. The game ended with a 42-14 victory for Highlands.
Highland high bluebirds proudly display their mohawks for the gridiron bowl. The team has a tradition of shaving their heads every time they go to the playoffs.
Franklin-Simpson fans were at the KHSAA gridiron bowl supporting their team with dozens of home made signs and plenty of blue and white apparel.

Larry Smith, Bowling Green Ky. celebrates his birthday and a strike during the silver sneakers weekly Wii bowling game at the Bowling Green retirement village.
Marty Lasseter and Art Harrison, Goodlettsville, Tenn. have been dancing with the music city bop club for 25 years. The couple paid a visit to the vette city bop club's annual Christmas dinner dance. With five marriages between the dancing duo, they have been significant others for 25 years and said they have no plans to "mess things up by getting married!"
Crowds gathered around the downtown square in Franklin to see Santa make his way through the annual Christmas parade Saturday evening.

Step 1: Christmas Cheer
Hear Ye' Hear Ye' behold the Grand Ol' Tree. I love white trees, even if my dear friend Matt says they're the tree of white trash. I think mine looks quite spectacular. Red/Black/Silver ornaments.
I love the initials I found last year...do you know how difficult it is to find the letter V on anything?
Even Mr. Motley Droole loves to just sit and relax by the tree, this was exactly how I found him the morning after I put the tree up. Since then, we've had a few incidents with the ornaments, er, I mean all the tempting shiny toys in the living room.

Jeffrey Steel in Nashville
J. Steele show in Nashville. You may not recognize the name but you have most definitely sang, hummed, or listened to one of his hits. J.S. is the songwriter of such hits as "Gone," "Drunk Girl," "Everytime I hear your name," "My Town," "Swamp Water," Your Tears Are Comin'," and "What Hurts the Most," just to name a few.
No joke, this guy performs his songs waaaaay better then any of the country artist that have made them hits. There's something about writing and performing your own music that the audience can feel when you play.
Ok, admittedly not the best photo. However, apparently this woman comes to almost every J.S. show in Nashville and she dances from the minute she walks in the door till she leaves. I"VE GOT TO GIVE PROPS TO A WOMAN THAT CAN OUT DANCE ME!!! During her fav song that she calls "twisted sister" she hopped up on stage and it was just her in the music. That's the kind of moment in life everyone should look for.
I love the way the 50mm rocks that D.O.F.
American Backbone
American Backbone was the theme I chose for my practicum photo column. The purpose was to showcase the resilience of Americans. Admittedly, I am missing much of the diversity that is America and hope to continue expanding on this project.
