Oh Alaska!
It is no secret- Ak holds onto a piece of my heart every time I venture back to the last frontier, but I have never been in the winter time So, this was quite a different visit for me! Never in my life have I seen as much snow as I did (3-4 ft. every where) and I certainly have NEVER been in negative temps or anything even remotely close to that!
This is from the driveway of a house Lori has for sale out in Eagle River. This house has such an amazing view and it's just a really cool layout. But look at how high the snow is on the right side of the frame...I'm not exactly tall at 5'2 but this snow was at least a foot or more above me!!
MOOOOOSE! I saw this moose standing in a subdivision when we were driving by and yelled out so Lori turned the car around! It's not like I've never seen a moose before, but every since 2004 when I first saw one in AK I have just loved them!
Yep, that's a moose over my shoulder! This one was the same one from the subdivision. It was a momma and a baby moose just hanging out one morning.
I have never seen a moose lay down before and this was a moose that Bob saw on his way home from work so he took me to see it as soon as he got home.
Next on my list, a live polar bear, but this one will do for now.
Alyeska! Alyeska ski resort has some of the most beautiful views of the range and I had only been there once in the summer of '04.
This is to show you how far up we were once we took the tram to the top where they have slopes for snowboarding and skiing.
The Alaska byway is by far the most incredible road to drive on and lucky for us it's kinda the only option to travel on depending on your destination!

A black bear and a polar bear woke from a deep hibernation to enjoy the -25 degree temps atop Alyeska! Even though it was close to my last day I still kept telling Lori how odd it felt to have my nose hairs freeze and defrost with every inhale/exhale gesture....

Craig Gass! So Craig Gass was in town all week and Bob set Lori and I up with tix for his thursday night show at koot's! His celeb impressions are insane and I was laughing so hard I couldn't breath at one point.

So when I am able to call Alaska home, I really hope I never get used to the scenery around me. I think that would be kinda sad.. you know to stop appreciating the majesty of the last frontier?
